Galatians 1:4 says "Who (Jesus) gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from THIS PRESENT EVIL WORLD, ..." It is easy to forget this description of the world when we look out our window and see a peaceful scene. If we are not, at the moment, listening to a broadcast of the news, we might not think of how 1Jn 5:19 says that "the whole world lieth in wickedness." Paul told his readers in Phil 2:15 that they were "in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation." That would also describe the countries of our present world. Again, because people are listening to the worldly media, and do not keep the Word of God in mind, their thinking is not focused on who is really pulling the strings behind the terrible things that are going on in this present evil world. It is not just political leaders and political groups with vile agendas. It is not just the mainstream media outlets. It is not just the secular colleges and universities, evolutionistic scientists, and ungodly people in the world of sports or the TV and movie industry. Eph 6:12 tells us "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." These are not humans of flesh and blood, but evil spirits known as Satan and demons. They are pulling the strings that are attached to these flesh and blood that are in politics, media, etc., etc. How long has this been going on? We need only get to the sixth chapter of the 1,189 chapters in the Bible, and read of way back in Adam and Noah's lives "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." "The earth also was corrupt before God and the earth was filled with violence." Gen 6:5,11. At the time of this writing, large cities across the USA are faced with violent protestors. People are being killed during the protests, and in Los Angeles it is reported that the murder rate is currently 250% higher than last year. Satan knows his time to be free to cause havoc on this earth is soon running out. The world is getting worse and worse, and will still get worse yet. A time of terrible tribulation, that is spoken of in both the Old and New Testaments is prophesied to come upon the earth, where half of the population will die due to wars, hunger, death, and wild beasts (Rev 6:8; 9:15,18). Why? Because the majority of people fail to submit to God's rule, and go their own rebellious and sinful ways. God has warned us of the judgment to come, how we can avoid it, and what will happen if we reject that way. Consider my next blog "When the Enemy Comes in Like a Flood."
