Modern man sitting with Jesus.jpg

Fittingly, at the beginning of this website is a picture of a man in modern clothing speaking with Jesus in the clothing most artists give our Lord.   This is to capture the gist of what this website is all about.  It is about getting to know God, by spending time with Him!   Jesus Christ, God in the flesh, is to be the focus of this website, and He said in Jn 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."  Jesus was not only concerned that God be glorified and focused upon, but that people would come and get to know Him well.  In Gen 5:24 we read of a man that "walked" with God (for some 300 years).   Seemingly God was so fond of this man that He took him (to be with Him) without that man having to even die.  "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."  It is not just that God wants people to know who He (God) is, as is stated over 60 times in the book of Ezekiel ("...and thou shalt know that I am the Lord", 16:62 for example), but that He wants people to know and love Him personally, experientially.  God says in Hos 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:.."  This is not "book" knowledge, or head learning of facts, but of personally knowing God Himself as Savior and Lord, as can be understood from Hos 6:6 "For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings."     In Jn 14:7 Jesus tells His disciples "If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father (God) also: and from henceforth ye know Him, and have seen Him."

How does one come to know God and Jesus personally, and then come to know Him better and better?   Just as we get to know anyone better, it is by spending time communicating with them.  God has had written His communication to us in His Word, the Bible.  We are to pray to God in response to that communication.  In order to be a spiritually healthy Christian, we need to be gaining a proper understanding of His Word, praying in an acceptable manner, fellowshipping with other Christians (Acts 2:42; Heb 10:24,25), and both serving and worshipping God (See 1Sa 12:24; Mic 6:8; Ecc 12:13).  This website is to be a help in these things.  God does use human instrumentality to assist in the relationship He wants to have with people (See Eph 4:11-16; Col 3:16; Ac 5:42).

Since it is not only salvation that we will consider on this site, but knowing God better and better, this site is not only to help reach people that have not come to know Christ yet, and to help them grow as new believers, but it is for all Christians as well to grow in their relationship to Him.   So this site actually is intended for all people on the Earth!  No wonder on the "Discipleship Training Material" page it speaks of a "world-wide ministry".

Who is this "Jesus" that we are to be focusing on?  Unlike people, there are no limited boundaries to the knowledge and power and love He has.   He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipotent (all-powerful), omni-present (every where at once), and omnificent (the Creator of all things).   He is called "The King of kings, and Lord of lords",

The Alpha & Omega (The Beginning and End of the Greek Alphabet, or "It's all about Him), "The Almighty".   He is worthy and deserving of all our attention, life, possessions, time, and worship.  Let's strive to give it to Him!
