Because the theme of this website is "Focusing on JESUS" I have created this "WEBSERVANT" page to remove information about myself off of the HOME page. It just didn't seem right to be "Focusing on Jesus" and have most of that page focused on someone other than Jesus. The term "Webservant" is a better term for a Christian than "Webmaster", especially when Jesus says in Mt 23:10,11 "Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant." So here below is my bio that I had on the HOME page.
As it is only natural for readers to want to know something about who created and is writing the content of this website, I will use this page to give you a little bit of my background. I was born in Southern California to middle-income parents, and had a brother nearly 11 years older than me, and a sister nearly 4 years older than me. My grandmother, on my father's side, lead me to the Lord on 8-12-1959, using the Wordless Book. I was reared by a father that was a practical atheist/agnostic, and a mother that was a closet-Christian that never grew much in her faith. I started going to a Baptist church with an aunt (daughter of the grandmother that lead me to Jesus) when I was 19 and preparing to enter the military. It was in the military that I joined a soul-winning, Baptist Bible Fellowship church, and gained experience in various ministries. It was there that I decided that once I was out of the military I would go to Bible College, from which I eventually graduated Magnum Cum Laude in the late 70's. After graduation, I became the pastor of my small church (14 people) for just four months until we decided to disband. I then entered a 17 yr period of working various security officer jobs. I married in the mid 80's and fathered two girls. In the late 90's I was ordained into the ministry, and became the pastor of a small church (in the same town I was born in) until I decided to move to my current home in Nevada in 2014. That was almost 6 years ago from the date of this writing. Not finding a church to pastor, I found myself in an early and unexpected retirement. Attending a community church here until December of 2019, my ministry in the church was alternating with the pastor in teaching a Tuesday afternoon Bible Study, making the church directory every six months, creating, feeding, and maintaining the church website and Facebook pages, singing in some of the church Christmas cantata's, receiving the morning offerings, and giving the benediction at the close of most morning services. My wife and I are currently in-between churches, and I want to use this "stay-at-home Coronavirus19" time to begin again to have a website on which to reach out with discipleship and other material to people in every state in the USA, as well as around the world, as I was doing on the church website.
For security reasons, to protect against identity theft, I have left out certain detailed information above, as well as removing my full name from three of my credentials posted below. Enough about me, let's move on to spending time with Jesus.
